Venue Spotlight: WALKERS LANDING AMELIA ISLAND
/One of our favorite things about being a wedding professional is the opportunity to work in some of the most beautiful locations in north Florida! many are hidden gems, tucked away in remote locations or closed to the public. We are lucky enough to lay eyes on some pretty incredible party spots and we thought it would be fun to spotlight some of our favorites with our fans ~ We hope you enjoy!
Walkers Landing, Amelia Island Florida
Walkers Landing, one of our personal favorite wedding venues, fits the "hidden gem" description perfectly! Tucked away among the spanich moss covered trees with breathtaking views of the intracoastal, this open reception hall is ideal for 100 - 150+ guests. It's minimal decor and light oak floors allow for any style & palette to take shape; not to mention the perfectly placed and OH SO attractive exposed wood beams that practically beg for floral adorned chandeliers and unique lighting treatments!
The ceiling isn't the only thing we love to decorate when we are there ~ Below are a few of our favorite spots to work our "flower magic"!
The Ceremony Spot:
Every venue has one ~ we happen to love Walkers for the fabulous old oak tree that stands in the center of the clearing~ the perfect focal point to embellish with fresh garland, rustic wooden arbors, lanterns, ribbons and even crystal chandeliers (see if you can spot them on the left)! Certainly one of the most romantic places to say "I do" with lots of places to add a little bit of "flower love".

Front Entrance:
As they say "first impressions are everything" and the front entrance is often one of the most important places to make a statement with flowers! This is easy at Walkers Landing considering there is a large free standing "oyster bar" that you just can't miss (or neglect to decorate)!! And what better place for a custom printed seating chart?

Back Patio:
There is nothing like a waterfront view and the back patio at Walkers Landing is one of it's main attractions! It is the perfect place for cocktail hour just as the sun sets over the famous intracoastal waterway.

Fireplace Mantel:
Boy do we love a good mantel and this one always provides the perfect backdrop for the cake! One of our favorite ways to decorate this space is a fresh garland swag accented with simple blooms from the brides bouquet & pillar candles in varying heights.

Ceiling Treatments
It's not often that we find a venue with a ceiling that is perfectly suited to hang things from {twinkle lights, large wire cages full of flowers & trailing vines, chandeliers with twinkling candles, flowy chiffon drapes - you name it we have hung it}!! Ceiling treatments are a wonderful way to add that "WOW" factor every couple pines for and guests can't help but talk about months afterwards. For this wedding we worked closely with Luxe Party Rentals to incorporate lights, drapes and flowers in such a way that they complimented each other spectacularly!

The Dance Floor:

I think We can all agree that the dance floor is such an important part of any good reception - especially if you have a good band or DJ on the vendor list! Unlike other venues, walkers landing's open floor plan allows plenty of room to get your groove on without cramping the guests seating. And how much do you LOve that black and white dance floor from beachview Rentals??
